About Freda de Ca
Writing & Photography
My aim is to understand and document the profound shifts shaping our global society, illuminating how these changes impact our collective well-being and our understanding of what it means to be human
With a background in logistics and a master's degree in international development and humanitarian action, I have evolved in the NGO sector, specializing in gender and inclusion initiatives, particularly in Haiti and West Africa. However, I soon felt a deeper calling to connect with people and their stories, to explore global issues in a more personal way.
This shift in perspective occurred in my mid-twenties, while I was battling stage three cancer. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of global challenges and the role modern lifestyles play in driving inequalities and disease. I realized that these issues weren’t just biological or political they also stemmed from our disconnection from ourselves, the earth, and our communities.
After my treatments, creativity became my therapy, and I realized how profoundly art can bridge these gaps, fostering deeper connections and understanding among people. Through creative expression, we can inspire empathy, awareness, and ultimately, change.
I'm thankful to be alive in this time of significant change. Despite conflicts and rapid technological advancements, I believe we can shape a better future by rediscovering what it means to be truly human.
